The pre-purchase inspection benefits the purchaser and seller. First, as a buyer, you want to be sure of what you are purchasing. Second, the seller doesn't have to defend his position on the condition of product, the inspection person basically maintains that position and can bring the sale to a final agreement sooner. But getting a pre-purchase inspection performed can be very difficult depending on location of airplane or person willing to perform an inspection. So when considering a long distance purchase, also consider getting the airplane inspected.
